1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and RyuPy ("RyuPy", "we", "us"), the publisher of File Manager One (the "App") and the website filemanager.one. By installing or using the App you agree to these terms and to the Google Play Terms of Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Licence and eligibility
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Android devices you own or control, for lawful purposes, in line with these terms and the Google Play rules. You must be old enough to agree to these terms in your country, or have a parent or guardian's permission. The App is not directed to children.
You must not: copy, modify, redistribute, rent or sell the App; distribute modified APKs; remove notices; reverse engineer it except where the law allows; or bypass its licence, Premium or integrity checks. A modified copy may refuse to open the Safe Folder or show a warning; nothing is deleted.
3. Acceptable use
You are responsible for how you use the App. You must not use it to:
- infringe copyright or other rights, including sharing or distributing pirated content through the built-in servers, share links or casting;
- access networks, devices, servers or accounts you are not authorised to use, including scanning networks without permission;
- break the law, or the terms of a cloud or network service you connect to;
- distribute malware or harm other people's devices or data.
4. Premium subscription
- Optional. The App is free. Every feature of the App is free for everyone. Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription that supports our development: it removes all ads and lets you send feature requests that we read first. A feature request is a suggestion, not a promise that it will be built. Premium benefits and the price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the App and on Google Play before you buy.
- Payment. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never see your payment details.
- Auto-renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, and you are charged through Google Play, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends (or as Google Play specifies). If a free trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. We will give notice of price changes as Google Play requires, and you can cancel before a new price applies.
- Manage or cancel at any time in Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, or in the Google Play app under Payments and subscriptions. The App also links there. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription. After cancelling you keep Premium until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy. Except where required by law or Google Play policy, payments are not refundable for partial periods. EU and UK consumers can use the withdrawal options Google Play provides, subject to any waiver given when the digital content starts immediately.
- Restore. Premium follows your Google account; use "Restore" in the App on a new device signed in to the same account.
5. Ads
The free version is supported by ads: a banner at the bottom of browsing screens and, in the editors, at most one full-screen ad every few minutes after you save or export (never while you view, play or edit a file), served by Google AdMob with your consent where required. Ads are provided by third parties; we do not endorse advertised products and are not responsible for third-party sites you visit from an ad.
6. Your files and data loss
The App works directly on your files. Many actions are permanent or hard to undo, including:
- deleting, moving, renaming, overwriting, copying over existing files, compressing, extracting and editing files (including in-place editing of documents, PDFs, images, audio and video);
- Cleaner: junk and leftover files are deleted permanently in one tap, without going to the Recycle Bin. Review the list before you clean. Other files you choose to clean go to the Recycle Bin;
- Recycle Bin: items are permanently deleted when the bin is emptied, manually or automatically after the period you set (30 days by default), and the bin cannot protect files deleted by other apps, by the Cleaner's junk step, on cloud or network storage, or when storage is removed or formatted;
- transfers interrupted by a lost connection, a full disk, a removed SD card or USB drive, or a provider error;
- encrypted archives and the Safe Folder (see section 7), where a forgotten password means the data cannot be opened.
You are responsible for keeping backups of important data. The App is a tool, not a backup service.
7. Safe Folder
The Safe Folder encrypts files on your device. Only you hold the keys. We cannot recover your files, passcode or recovery phrase. Your files can be lost permanently if, for example, you forget your passcode and lose your recovery phrase, remove your screen lock or reset or replace the phone without the recovery phrase, delete or corrupt the vault folder, or a storage fault occurs. The vault survives uninstalling the App. Keep your recovery phrase written down somewhere safe and keep encrypted backups. You must accept the Safe Folder terms shown in the App before using it. The Safe Folder is not a backup.
8. Root, terminal, APKs and apps
- Root access and the terminal let you change system files and run commands with full privileges. Misuse can corrupt the system, cause data loss, void your warranty or make the device unusable. Use them only if you understand the consequences, entirely at your own risk.
- Installing APK, XAPK, APKS and APKM files from outside Google Play can install harmful or incompatible software. Install only files you trust. Uninstalling apps removes their data.
- App backups may not include an app's private data and may not reinstall on every device.
9. Servers, network and casting
- The built-in HTTP, FTP/FTPS and Wi-Fi Transfer servers make the files you share available to devices on your local network. Use them only on networks you trust and are allowed to use, keep the password protection on, do not expose them to the internet (for example by port forwarding), and turn them off when you are done. You are responsible for who you give access to and what they do with your files.
- HTTP, plain FTP and http:// WebDAV connections are not encrypted; others on the network may see passwords and data.
- Only scan, connect to or cast to networks and devices you are allowed to use.
- Share links you create on a cloud service are public: anyone with the link can access the file until you remove the link at the provider.
10. Third-party services
The App can connect to services run by others, including Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Yandex Disk, Mail.ru Cloud, MEGA, pCloud, Koofr, OpenDrive, Nextcloud, ownCloud, Seafile, WebDAV servers, Amazon S3 and S3-compatible storage, Chromecast and DLNA devices, and Google Play.
- You need your own valid account and any required licence with each service, and you remain bound by its terms and privacy policy.
- RyuPy is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by these providers. We are an independent developer using their public APIs or standard protocols. Some integrations use protocols or interfaces that the provider does not officially document for third-party apps.
- Providers may change, limit or end access to their services or APIs at any time, which may stop a feature from working. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or any loss caused by them.
- Removing an account in the App does not revoke its access at the provider; see the Privacy Policy for how to revoke it.
11. Intellectual property
The App, its design, code, logo and the name "File Manager One" belong to RyuPy or its licensors. Open-source components are used under their own licences, which are listed in the App and prevail for those components. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their owners. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Google Drive is a trademark of Google LLC. You keep all rights to your own files.

12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App and website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, and that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every device or file, or will never lose data. Some countries do not allow these exclusions, so they may not fully apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RyuPy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, profits, revenue, goodwill or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the App, third-party services, or features described in sections 6 to 10, even if we were told such damage was possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim, or SGD 50 if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it (and cancelling any subscription in Google Play). We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example 6, 7, 11 to 13 and 15) survive termination.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country whose laws give you mandatory protection, you keep that protection and may bring proceedings in the courts of your country. Please contact us first; most issues can be solved quickly through the contact form.
16. Changes
We may update these terms when the App, our services or the law change. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you in the App or on this website before they take effect. If you continue using the App after that, the updated terms apply. Changes do not apply retroactively.
17. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them as part of a reorganisation or sale of the App, without reducing your rights. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the in-App Safe Folder terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the App.
